Making Sure The Part Fits The Correct Vehicle Application
Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to find the correct part or part type for your application on a web site. The only thing that may be worse is finally recieving your order in the mail and realizing it is the wrong part.
All parts information is managed in the Auto Plus system which is completely AAIA (Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association) compliant with their ACES standards. ACES stands for AAIA Catelog Enhanced Standards. The two databases contained within the standard are the VCdb (Vehicle Configuration Database) and the PCdb (Product Categorization Database.
The ACES VCdb is made up of database tables in areas such as group, type, MMY, sub model, region, engine, transmission, drive, brake, spring, steering, wheel, bed, body and manufactures body.
The group database is made up (currently) of light duty, medium / heavy duty and powersports vehicles. The type database for the light duty group is made up of car, truck or van. The medium / heavy duty has types such as medium and heavy duty trucks. The powersports group has types like ATV, offroad motorcycle, snowmobile and street motorcycle to name a few. The make, model, year and sub model databases are made up of vehicles that were manufactured and or sold in the United States, Canada and Mexico from an 1896 Duryea to a 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV (as of Feburary 2014 ACES update). River’s Edge, Inc. has a great software tool that allows it’s users to lookup and browse all aspects of both the VCdb and PCdb ACES databases. Not only is it a great tool it is free as well. You can learn more about it by clicking here to visit their web site.
This shows the make sure the part fits feature.
By using the Auto Plus system to manage your inventory catalog you have the best technology in a software package utilizing the most accurate and up to date industry standard databases to build your parts application catalog. This ensures that when your customer searches for the parts you sell on your automotive shopping cart they can trust that the part fits.
